Biologic Injectable Therapies
WHAT ARE BIOLOGICS?
Biologic therapies are targeted medications used to treat a disease process. These medications typically are administered under the skin (subcutaneously). These scientifically synthesized biologic medications are used to prevent, treat, and cure disease. Biologic medicines are a part of the most scientifically advanced therapies to treat chronic medical conditions such as asthma, chronic hives, and nasal polyps. These specific treatment options can lead to life-changing improvements in chronic health disorders.
HOW DO BIOLOGICS WORK?
In general, biologics work to neutralize specific targets in the immunologic pathways of the body. A biologic can help to keep the disease at bay by preventing its effects.

Biologic therapies are more targeted than traditional medical treatments. Biologics might block a specific receptor or immunological signals such as Immunoglobulin E (IgE), Interleukin 5 (IL-5), Thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP), and Interleukin 4 and 13 (IL-4,13).
